important updates on teachers' day

1. gifts: joycelyn is nice and has offered to bake muffins for us to give to the teachers. gwen will be compiling the messages to go with the muffins, so please dont forget to give them to her on monday morning!

2. we want to surprise the teachers by putting up a few posters and balloons near the staffroom. so on thursday (the day before celebrations), we will stay back in school, wait for the teachers to go home and decorate a few pillars or something haha. daisy and thinking will prepare the posters and balloons,
so anyone who is free on thursday and willing to stay back till evening to help make this teachers day a memorable one, please tell gwen on monday morning as well.

some time ago we were invited by a CHINESE association to dance for their event. they had heard about us from the irir competition. unfortunately we had to turn the invitation cos exams are nearing ):
anyway its good encouragement! even the CHINESE want to invite a cool MALAY dance group like us to perform for them :D jiayou everyone we are famous ha ha ha

Here is the updated August training schedule.
Please take note of the changes in venues and timing as following:
Tues (4:00 - 7:00 pm) hall
Thur (4:00 - 7:00 pm) DS2

Also be aware that training with ms Maya will start on 12 Aug and training with Cikgu on Saturday will start on 16 Aug.

The workshop will be on next tues. Planning is as following:

Tuesday 5/8 (4:00 - 7:00_ - venue : hall
- 4:00 - 4:30 everybody to come, self-warmup, revision of steps , prepare for the workshop
- 4:30 - 6:00 workshop
+ Introduction + ice-breaking : 15 mins ( 4:30-4:45) - Shiqi will be in charge
+ Warmup : 10-15 mins (4:45~5:00)(not the whole sequence) - Mango will be in charge
+ Zapin angklung performance(with costumes) 5 mins (5:00 ~5:05)
Dancers: - boys: Quyen, Thinking, Kurt(PP)
- girls: Gwen, Huiwei, Saniah
+ Train Set 1 + Chorus(if we have enough time) 25' + 20' + 5' = 55'. (5:05 ~ 6:00) (big group + small group + perform, the performance will be video taped) - Quyen and PP will be in charge
- Refreshments: 15 mins (6:00 - 6:15) --> watch performances or play games
- 6:20 - 6:50 - everybody to perfect set 1 + chorus
- 6:50 - 7:00 - perorm (set 1 + chorus)-
- 7:00 - 7:05 - debrief and dismiss

Thursday 7 Aug (4:00 - 7:00) venue : DS2: Training will resume as usual.

*Planning for tuesday workshop is tentative. Changes will be made when necessary :D
